Special Field Service Campaign at DA
by limbogirl ini have this memory of going to a da back in the mid to late seventies -- i was about 8 years old -- and there was a special field service campaign.
seems to me that one of the assembly days was shortened and everyone was given a service kit -- some tracts in a plastic bag -- and everyone was to go out and preach for the remainder of the afternoon.
i remember going with my dad to get in line to pick up the bag of tracts and then going into the neighborhood around the stadium to witness.

Yes I did that in 1978 in St Louis . Then in early 1980's in Milwaukee , Cicero ( Hawthorne Racetrack yuk) and Springfeild IL. NEVER AGAIN

American Idol ... will Chris win?

we all think chris is going win and it is his contest to loss at this point.
although there are a couple of men who like kat.

I WANT CHRIS TO WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love everything about him .I'll buy his CD today if he had one . Kat has a great voice when she is not a bundle of nerves.Beautiful girl but not consistantly good performances. Taylor is fun, Las Vegas fun not American Idol fun. Elliot is a very good singer, but boring.

High School Prom
by Larry ingreetings folks - it's been a while since i posted anything.
the other day i was talking to my daughter about her prom - dress, limo, etc....and it dawned on me that i never went to my prom.
obviously being a jdub was a big reason why i didn't go or had any desire to go.

My Senior Prom was 1979 and new information had just come out at that time about how good little witless children would not attend such parties. So no for me In our hall now a couple of years ago a young brother wanted to attend with a girl from school......the elders were on it like that. They advised his parents to call it off and threatened to take away all priviledges from him . So the week of prom he had to let his date down . I felt so bad for him and her . The next year when my son wanted to go I just told him not to tell anyone at the hall , and just go have fun ( within reason ) I did lecture him about don't fall into temptation like sex or drinking . This past weekend my youngest attened Prom with all the fanfare , pictures , girlfriend , dinner out , and all nighter at a friends house . He had a blast and my husband and I enjoyed watching him be so happy .

When I was young I use to like to draw , but it never was as good as I could imagine in my minds eye . But with Photography I can produce exactly what I intended , I love it.

How my mind has become more troubled .....
by troubled mind inwell our fade seemed to be going along pretty smoothly even with the slight hitch of having to attend the memorial .
then this weekend good old mother in law who lives a thousand miles away , and talks to us once every few months , called, on speaker phone no less .
i know she has informats here and she has been dropping hints for months that she knows something is up , but she never comes out and just asks .

I am begining to think so too . I am going to try to keep my mouth shut . Which if you really knew me you know it would take a miracle. Seriously I don't need to answer anyone's questions that I don't want to , it is no one's business but mine.

How closely does your online personality match the REAL you?
by nicolaou ini think i come across as a bit agressive online but in reality i know i'm extremely chilled - lazy some might say.
i'm greek you see and we do so love to argue the toss - loudly and insistently - and then have a game of tavli (backgammon) afterwards.
thing is most of my family are still jw's and as i can't do it with them you guys end up getting both barrels!!.

I think my online persona is different than my real life personality. Because this is the only place I come to bawl and bitch . In real life I have always been the friend everyone came to for advice or a shoulder to cry on. Here I really show my weaker side , I don't share that side with many in real life . In real life I usually am the one to take charge , get things done kind of person. On here I think I sound like a whimp. Thank Goodness for JWD it has saved me a ton of money that I would have spent on a shrink ! And possibly some inpatient time ,lol.
